At a Board Workshop last night, the OCPS Board of Directors instructed the Superintendant to begin the rule making process for rezoning children and to receive public input into the closure issue. I have attached a copy of the PowerPoint from the Board meeting last night and a copy of the timeline for decision making which includes the opportunities for public input. Both documents can also be accessed via the OCPS web site at https://www.ocps.net/Pages/default.aspx . The rule making process includes several community meetings and public hearings that are open to the public and provide an opportunity for input before a final decision is made. You are invited to give input into the process by attending and speaking at the hearings and public meetings that are scheduled. You may also feel free to comment in writing to the Superintendant of Schools. Please copy me on any written communications or testimony so I may maintain a record of your input. This notice is also being sent by mail to each local government impacted by the school closures today. Andrew T. DeCandis, AICP
